SERMON ARCHIVES

If you are looking to grow your faith this year, or are deciding to pursue faith in God for the first time, this series should provide some clarity on the things and ways that God uses in our life to build life-altering, unshakable faith.

As children, many of us were taught to say our prayers. As we get older, we wonder, why should I pray? How should I pray? Does praying even work? Those questions deserve grown-up answers.

In this series we took a look at what the bible has to say about any questions about Jesus, the Bible, religion, spirituality, theology, history, relationships, etc.

Me and My Big Mouth Series Graphic Black.jpg

Be really slow to speak, because the tongue is untamable. Like a small spark that has the potential to scorch an entire green forest, our tongues are untamable with the power to control our whole bodies. We have a tool that can be used to build up those around us or tear them down with just a few words.

What do we do with that kind of power? We can’t lock it away. But we can, by God’s grace, learn to control it.

If not Jesus, who? If not Christianity, what? Now that we have your intention, where do you go?

We believe the answer is to simply follow. Jesus invites us, not to necessarily to change direction, behavior, or habits, but instead to ‘follow Him’. How will this help predict your future?

Have we as a society bought into the 3 untruths that this book suggests? Unfortunately for most of us, we have.

We want to discover how these untruths are damaging to the present American generations as well as those to come, but also how these ideas are counteracting what the bible teaches us.

Transcending Perceptions" will take you through stories of Jesus like never before. Five out of the many unique paintings by Aaron Hinds were chosen to depicted and elaborate on the  story to which they represent from week to week.

Let’s be practical.

We spend one hour a week on Sunday morning feeding our faith, but how is it growing during the other 167 hours— the other hours that daily life consumes? For the next 5 weeks, we want to look at faith from a practical standpoint. We will try to understand it’s true meaning, how we can demonstrate it day by day, and why embracing God’s agenda is greater than our own.

For most of us “the Bible tells me so” is not enough.

Most of us who believe in the bible were taught the bible as children. And even if you were taught about the bible as an adult, you were probably taught it by other adults, who were taught the bible as children.

Some people were raised to believe that the bible is 100% Truth, 100% of the time. And some of us believed what the bible said until we discovered what else it says.....and now we have doubts.

In this series, we will explore the origins of the collection of writings that make up ‘The Bible’. We will look at historical context and accounts of miraculous events within the pages. But mainly, we will be focusing on the story of how we GOT the bible.

We are a people of promise.

For centuries, God prepared people for the coming of his Son, our only hope for life. They anticipated him, they celebrated him, and they remembered the promises that were kept to them.

Now, how can we rebuild our anticipation, celebrate the fulfillment of the promises He made, and remember the thrill of hope that is Jesus.

“What would you do?”

What would you do if you really believed God was with you? If you believed God was with you when everything is going wrong, what would you do then? What about when everything is going well? Would you steward your success well? Or what if you really believed God was with you when you had a chance to get back at someone who did you wrong? Would you make the right choice?

We want to take a look at the life of Joseph and recognize what HE did. The life of Joseph is full of trials and successes that we have the opportunity of learning from. And for the next 3 weeks, we want to take advantage of the lessons learned by Joseph in hopes that through him, we will become certain of what we are to do.

Pride Graphic.jpg

If you don’t remove the roots, it will only grow back.

It is a prison that sustains our hurt, anger, and bitterness— a heavy anchor that keeps us down. It is a spreading poison that keeps us firmly rooted in our selfishness. And it manifests itself in ways we might not be aware of. The weight of wanting to look good, feel good, be right, and be in control are all consuming issues that keep us from true liberation through Christ. And the truth is, we are all guilty.

With pride being one of our greatest enemies, what is our battle plan to defeat it? How can acts of humility rip up the roots that connect us to so many other problems? And when will you begin to remove the roots that pride has created in your own life?

When !t Hits the Fan Graphic.jpg

When it all hits the fan, how are we suppose to manage our lives then? How can we still have faith in God as our dreams splatter in our face?

Based on biblical principles and solid wisdom, we will go deeper into realistic ways to recover from the mess. Join us for the next several weeks as we unpack real life situations and discover how God can make all things beautiful again.

Spiritual disciplines are practices found in Scripture that promote spiritual growth among believers. They are habits of devotion, habits of experiential Christianity that have been practiced by God’s people since biblical times.

We want to take a look at how we are spending our time and money and why it’s important to be intentional with both.

Have you ever doubted the existence of God? Do you resist the idea of a creator? The truth is, many people wrestle with the reality of who God is. Maybe you use to believe, made you want to believe, but right now you can’t.

For the next six weeks, we are presenting a sermon series that has been designed to push into our unbelief to seek what is true. We will try to understand why God is not intimidated by our doubts and questions and how knowing this is an important step into bold faith.

We all have a Story. Our own personal adventure. The sum total of all of our experiences; highs and lows, ups and downs, victories and failures. Some people tell their stories with pride; glorious tales of pulling themselves up by their own boot straps. Others rarely mention their stories; and when they do, they are whispered with murmurs of defeat and shame.

We don’t know your story. But God does. Our prayer is that you will be encouraged to trade your story to be apart of God’s Story.
